Trail Clearing in the Rogers Preserve

On Labor Day, six volunteers came out to do some late summer clearing on the trails in the Rogers Preserve. Joining us were WWBPA Members Jack and Holly Hayon, Roger Alig, Ron Slinn, Student Advisor Ryan Sleeper, and Trustee Ken Carlson. Much of the work involved using scythes and hoes to trim back the grass that had overgrown the trails., and raking away the debris. Ron, a forrester by profession, used his trusty chain saw as he continued his efforts to remove dead trees from the Preserve. This thinning of trees in the Preserve is important for the health of surrounding trees and also removes a potential fire hazard.

Please come out and
enjoy the Rogers Peserve trails this fall!
